Regular Events
There are a number of regular events held during the week at Claremont. For more information about any of the following please contact the office on (08) 9385 2607.
Small Groups
Our Small Groups cover a variety of ages and people, run on various week
nights at a number of places and homes.
Prayer
Meeting
Our Prayer Meeting is held on Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm here at the
church.
Tiger Tots
This
is a fun, relaxed movement and music class and is held at 9:30am every
Thursday
during the school terms. The idea is for you and
your child to participate together and as your child will follow your lead, don’t be shy
and join in. We aim to:
● Develop your child’s enjoyment and appreciation of music - the
beat, rhythm and melody.
● Encourage movement and motor development by dancing,
jumping, skipping hopping movements and actions.
● Provide you and your child with an activity through which to bond
by having fun together.
● Give you an opportunity to meet and share with other carers/parents
and their children.
Ladies Bible
Study
Join a wide variety of ladies on Wednesdays at 9.30am
to 12 noon during
school terms, upstairs at the church, for a bible study and
fellowship. Crèche is also available.
Craft
Also on Wednesdays, Craft is held downstairs at the church 10am
to 12 noon
during the school terms. Crèche is also available.
Youth Group
For Year 8 – 12’s, happens fortnightly on a Friday night
from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
Hospitality
Working on a roster, teams take turns in organising morning tea
after the Sunday morning service and flowers to add to the welcoming atmosphere
of the church.
Sports
Ministry
This dynamic team uses sport as a means to connect with people and
build community, primarily through Basketball. The annual SportsFest
weekend is also a way that sport brings people from all sorts of
backgrounds and experiences together in a fun and healthy way.
Thai Prison
Letter Writing
In lending a hand to write to Christian men and women from third
world countries serving sentences in Bangkok prisons, you can bring
hope and companionship to these people. It all takes place over an
afternoon of letter writing held on the first Monday of each month
from 2pm to 6pm at the Broerse’s home. Please contact Ellen Broerse (08) 9245
6237 for more information.
Visitation -
Community Visitors Scheme
CVS is a visitation program run to join volunteer visitors to
nursing homes. Residents of aged hostels and nursing homes who
either have no family or friends are contacted and a CVS volunteer
is assigned to them. The interaction may include a walk / wheelchair
ride, a board game, or just a chat.
Welcoming
Team
We only get one chance at a first impression and we hope
your first impression of us was a warm and positive one. Our
Welcoming Team are people who enjoy meeting others, who offer a warm
handshake, a smile, a friendly welcome and a first point of contact
to first time guests at CBC.
Worship Team
Our Worship team includes musicians, vocalists, sound
technicians and projectionists. The team is a group of highly
committed individuals who enjoy working together to praise God
through their gifts.
Rainbow
Run jointly with Nedlands Uniting Church, Rainbow is an
informal lunch for those suffering from a mental illness,
or someone who has a loved one with an illness. Rainbow runs
from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on the first and third Thursday
of the month, and the Rainbow team are always looking for
volunteers to help.
Events Throughout The Year
Claremont Baptist Church hosts a number of special events through
the year including Marriage Seminars, Men’s and
Women’s programs, camps, outings, and social get togethers. Please call the
office or check our website calendar for up-coming events that suit you!
How Can You Get Involved?
We encourage all members at Claremont Baptist Church to think “ONE”
-
being involved in One service, One small group, One ministry, all
together as ONE church. If you have recently started to join us in
worship, please spend some time enjoying getting to know us as we
also get to know you before considering getting more involved in the
life of our church. Every church is uniquely different so please
allow some time to experience this and how we seek to serve and
worship God.
The pastoral team will be delighted
to talk to you about how you can get involved in a small group and a
ministry.
